I am sorry, Onmyboat, that your nastiness and sarcasm has gotten in the way of clear thinking and charity on your part. My point is that subsidiarity is a teaching of the Church and that person-to-person, smaller scale charity is far better than institutionalized, bureaucratic and impersonal largesse. You might spend some time meditating on Holy Father Francis' comment about the Church not being another NGO. Moreover, I worked at a large Catholic mega hospital (900+ beds) that is now defunct but that, while it was still operating, one would be hard-pressed to detect anything uniquely Catholic about it that distinguished it from other healthcare facilities in that same city. - Deacon Ed Peitler
